In former times, the “weekend” in Morocco was Thursday and Friday, like in all the Islamic world.
After every Fridays prayer, all the extended family came together to spend a good time and to exchange the news of the week while having a meal together.
Times changed and the weekend nowadays is Saturday and Sunday, but the main prayers’ day is still Friday and the nice tradition to have Couscous together also remained.
Couscous is delicious, not too expensive and fills you up for a long time. Cooking makes the tour, so that it will be the turn of everyone in the family.
